"The Plough and the Stars" von Sean O'Casey

 

Hallöchen,

 

gestern war ja Halloween und den Abend hab ich nicht auf einer Halloween-Party verbracht, sondern im Theater! [Okay, ich muss gestehen, dass es schon einen kleinen Moment vor dem Theaterbesuch gab, in dem ich dachte, dass ich das Ticket nicht hätte kaufen sollen (eben wegen der Parties), aber was für eine Idiotin ich gewesen wäre, wenn ich nicht mit meinem Irish Literary Revival Kurs ins Theater gegangen wäre!] Es war mal wieder ein berauschendes Erlebnis - super Kostüme und Requisiten, tolle SchauspielerInnen und ein Dubliner Dialekt zum Verlieben! Und noch zwei Vorteile: 1. das Drama müssen wir noch für den Kurs lesen, was mir jetzt sehr viel einfacher fallen wird! :) 2. das Ensemble des Abbey Theatres (The National Theatre of Ireland) ist nach Limerick gekommen, was bedeutet, dass wir dafür nicht mal nach Dublin mussten..;)

 

 

Wovon das Stück handelt? Hm. Von vielen Dingen! Liebe und Verlust eingebettet in das politische Geschehen von 1915/16.

We will be visiting the Corlea Track Centre, an ancient archaeological
site and the location of the great mythical tale of Eatain and Midhir:

site, and the place where the battle of the gods took place in the deep

We will be staying in Sligo overnight, in a hostel. Next day we will be
visiting Carrowkeel passage tomb cemetery, an ancient burial ground from
